Let’s hop to it: Easter-themed sports games for trying at home

Spring has finally sprung! The days are longer, the sun is (mostly) shining, and the Easter holidays have been packed with unforgettable memories from camp. Over the past two weeks we’ve been gathering some of our favourite Easter themed games and thought it would be useful to share them with you to give a crack at at home.

So grab those Easter eggs, put on your trainers, and let’s hop to it!

The Great Egg Dash

What can beat a classic egg and spoon race? The Great Egg Dash is the perfect game to test balance and speed, all whilst creating a little bit of chaos. 

So, whether you’re hosting a family garden party or just playing in the park, this fast-paced race is a must this Easter, next Easter and the next!

What you’ll need: 

• Spoons
• Plastic or hard-boiled eggs

How to play:

• Set up a start and finish line
• Everyone balances an egg on a spoon and races to the finish without dropping it
• For extra fun, try out adding challenges like hopping on one foot or walking backwards
• First one to cross the finish (with their egg still intact) wins bragging rights… and maybe a chocolate egg too

Bunny Bounce Obstacle Course

Get ready to hop, wiggle, and roll your way through the ultimate Easter challenge! The Bunny Obstacle Course is all about silly jumps, speedy sprints, and your perfect bunny moves.

If you’re looking for a way to burn off that springtime energy, this is the perfect activity for you to try out with the family. So let your imagination run wild and see who can hop their way to the top of the bunny leaderboard!

What you’ll need:

• Cushions, cones, or anything you can safely jump over
• Open space indoors or outdoors

How to play:

• Set up your course with cushions to hop over, zigzags to bounce around, and tunnels to crawl through (Chairs & blankets work great)
• Hop around like bunnies from start to finish
• Time each player and see who the fastest bunny is in the patch
• Bonus points for the best bunny hops and silliest hop sound effects

Egg toss Showdown

The Egg Toss Showdown is a true test of teamwork, skill, and steady hands… This game starts off easy, but don’t be fooled! As the distance grows, so does the challenge… (Don’t worry – no real eggs are required)

What you’ll need:

• Plastic eggs, a small ball, or a bunched up pair of socks

How to play:

• Pair up and stand close together
• Gently toss the egg back and forth
• After each successful catch, take a step backwards
• Keep going until someone drops the egg

Not only do these activities burn off that holiday energy, they also build coordination and teamwork skills, and boost confidence all while creating those sweet, silly memories that will last forever.
