Chris’ New Well-being & Networking Walk for Everyone in the Education Sector
YOU’RE INVITED!
My name is Chris Redman and I am the Company Director of Ultimate Kids. I have worked in the Education sector for 12 years and have had my fair share of stressors and fall backs and understand that at times it can feel rather overwhelming.
As a Company Director and someone who has spent many years attending over 100+ different Primary Schools & Nurseries I have noticed that our Education sector places more and more stress and responsibility on our educators of the future. Although, everyone tries their best, genuinely wants to make a positive impact and spends countless unpaid hours going the extra mile; the great people from the Education sector often forget to attend to their own mental & physical well-being as much as they should.
In my opinion, I think that if our Teachers, Classroom Assistants, Head Teachers, Sport Coaches, SLT’s, and everyone else that works in the Education Sector where to spend even an extra hour a week with like minded individuals to express their stressors, problems and we can’t forget achievements, then our Education environments will slowly start to flourish even more.
Now, don’t get me wrong, this is not supposed to be an overnight miracle or to say that there is something seriously wrong with our sector BUT I hear us say it every day to the children about how important it is to exercise, to be outside, to play and to COMMUNICATE if you have something on your mind; which is amazing. Now, why can’t you do all those things now you’re an adult? There is one thing that I didn’t mention here… Celebrating achievements.
As a child, we want to scream our achievements from the rooftops and there is nothing that trumps that happiness. As adults, we sometimes forget this as we have so much going on in our busy lives, or we have to move on to the next thing but I want to promote that it is OK to enjoy the moment, take pride in an achievement, no matter how big or small and shout them from the rooftops for everyone to hear. Let’s start to talk about the amazing things we achieve everyday in this sector and replace the negativity and moaning.
Ok, so the reason I have written this blog (even if it may sound somewhat of a rant! I promise, it’s not intended to be) is that, I have decided to provide a community for my fellow sector workers which will take place in the form of a free regular Well-being & Networking Walk that I will be holding every Saturday morning @ 08:00. This is an opportunity for all in the Education sector to spend a bit of time focussing on themselves, clearing their minds and collaborating with like minded individuals.
This community is to create positive mindsets, offer support and guidance, encourage movement and physical well-being and to reconnect and be in Nature. It may not sound like your cup of tea if this isn’t something you would normally do, but I challenge you to give it a go… After all it’s free so what have you got to lose? I promise you will never regret a walk and talk in Nature.
It would be great to see you there but please do spread the word to anyone you think would like to get involved. Also, four legged friends are more than welcome!
Here’s a picture of mine when they’re not killing each other:
P.S If you are a parent or carer reading this and think that the staff in your little one’s school could benefit from our community, I encourage you to get in touch with us and/ or contact your school Head Teacher to let them know.
